Value Factors
NCCM Mill Rolls are designed to save the customer money by supplying "price value". Price value is the real cost of using a product. A more expensive product, compared to an inexpensive product, can save significant money in the long term if it can operate longer, better, more reliably, and/or minimize defects in the product being produced. NCCM Mill Rolls are designed to supply the highest value for their target market roll end users, therefore users should expect their long-term roll costs to be minimized while their product quality and productivity are maximized.
NCCM Mill Rolls offer the end user value in many combinations of these four major topics:
- Longer Life: It is common for NCCM Mill Rolls to last multiple lifetimes of rolls they replace. This saves on the cost of roll replacement, spare rolls, roll changing, and in some cases, line shut-downs. In AOEM press shop applications, typical competitive roll life can be measured in several months whereas a NCCM Mill Roll life is typically measured in years, with superior fluid control…
- Fluid Control: Fluid control is defined as a roll's ability to properly remove or apply fluids from and to the sheet's surface. Typical names are wringer rolls (e.g., water quench) and applicator rolls (e.g., chemtreat applicator).
NCCM Mill Rolls are known in the industry to be an excellent choice for these applications. For example, among the most critical fluid application operations is properly cleaning and oiling an AOEM blank before it is pressed into an auto body panel. In this extremely critical application a properly prepared NCCM Mill Roll system provides low coating weights, uniform coating weights, consistent coating weights, and extended life measured in years.
- Friction: NCCM Mill Rolls have demonstrated for decades that they possess extraordinary coefficients of friction. Independent tests have recorded consistently high values on dry and oiled steel and aluminum. [To see a scanned copy of the original experiment report that determined "belt-type" friction (i.e., bridle rolls) click here]
When these high coefficient of friction values are compared to those of other typical, or atypical, roll materials the results are even more impressive. These numbers have been certified in many "real world" applications where the end user was struggling with other roll materials before solving the problem by installing NCCM Mill Rolls.
- Non-Marking: NCCM Mill Rolls can minimize or eliminate damage to the metal sheet's surfaces caused by numerous reasons, such as "roll pick-up" marks, scratches from slipping, sheet deformation by roll surface defects, and more.
Several of the NCCM Mill Rolls unique and/or inherent properties combine to maximize surface quality for the end user's metal sheet.
